In Barinas State a vaccination campaign against measles, rubella and polio began in mid-June through the State Health Directorate with the support of the health ministry.

Although since August 2019 there have been no registered cases in the country, according to a PAHO report, the health agency of Maduro’s regime must abide by the recommendations made regarding the monitoring of the rubella, measles and polio campaigns that are carried out in Venezuelan territory.

During the fourth meeting of the National Measles Committee, held in mid-July at the PAHO offices, observations were presented on the 2020-2021 report of the Ministry of Health , as part of the process to verify that the disease has been eliminated in Venezuela.

Despite the fact that, after the review of the report presented by the regime, it was determined that interruption of the measles outbreak and the elimination of rubella and congenital rubella has been maintained, PAHO considers it pertinent and essential to comply with the follow-up of the campaigns of vaccination.
