Masiva protesta contra Trump en su primer día en la Casa Blanca

Cientos de miles de manifestantes tomaron las calles de varias ciudades estadounidenses este sábado, en un día de protestas convocadas por mujeres contra el presidente Donald Trump en su primer día completo en la Casa Blanca.

En la capital, donde se celebra la mayor Marcha de las Mujeres, 275.000 personas habían utilizado el sistema de metro a las 11h00 (16h00 GMT), casi 50% más que para la investidura de Trump el viernes a la misma hora, dijo la autoridad del transporte, WMATA.





Según el vicealcalde de Washington, Kevin Donahue, los organizadores aumentaron su estimación inicial de participantes de 200.000 a 500.000 personas.

La avenida Independencia de Washington, una de las mayores de la ciudad, estaba absolutamente repleta de manifestantes a lo largo de 1,5 km, y era imposible cruzarla, constató un periodista de la AFP.

Decenas de miles de manifestantes deambulaban por la Explanada Nacional a la espera del arranque de la marcha, ya que les resultaba imposible acercarse al acto de concentración.

Nutridas multitudes participaban en “marchas hermanas” en otras ciudades estadounidenses como Boston, Nueva York, Denver, Chicago y Los Ángeles.
